Day 4 #Exploratory Oratory#

Glasses, a must have for any tourist :)
It was Monday and all the shops have finally opened and people filled the streets. We needed to get some NOK's® and find an exchange office that will not rip us off to much. After a kind hat maker who apprenticed in Britain told us where to go (i have a pic of him, he's truly a character tho i don't have rotate on the mac i'm hijacking).
While waking toward the pier we caught a glimpse of the Royal Palace, it was 12:00pm and every 3h the changing of the guard happens, it's a nice little event. That the locals seem to view more like a joke then an event. But i guess like with most things that happen all the time it tends to get boring and monotonous, and those kinda things are usually more appreciated by fat lazy loud tourists from Sombor then anyone else...Not speaking too specifically tho =)

everyone joined the fun eventually :)

 ===========================================================

Such prunes these Norwegians
Unfortunately it seemed that i lost my inhaler, so i had to go to a pharmacy and just pick up another 1. We got to see the city in daylight and figured to spice up our trip with some more culture and visit the famous opera house. In the pharmacy i found out that u just can't get medicine with a smile and a pretty face, not saying i have either it was annoying to hear i have to have an examination and then get ma' medicine. Well we put that on hold until we got some NOK's® and get some basic information from the tourist info and visit the Opera. Now that all sounds kinda easy, but finding a tourist information burro is not an easy thing, people seem to have no idea where it is and the ones that do, tend to give out completely insane directions that don't really go anywhere :) We finally found it near the train station and got the info we needed. Next on our stop was the opera house.

hc
The Opera house, now i mentioned this before, some things really could have a blog of their own, well not this one, but it is pretty impressive :))
Tehe pointy boobies.

The exert from Wikipedia says the following:"The Oslo Opera House (Norwegian: Operahuset) is the seat of The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, and the national opera theatre in Norway. The building lies in Bjørvika, in the center of Oslo, at the head of the Oslofjord. Its builder was Statsbygg, a government-run property owner. The architects were the Norwegian firm Snøhetta who were also the architects of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (the Library of Alexandria) in Egypt. The theatre designers were Theatre Projects Consultants based in London, the acoustic designers were BrekkeStrandArup, a joint venture between local consultant Brekke Strand Akustikk and international acousticians Arup Acoustics. Norwegian construction company Veidekke was awarded one of the largest building contracts of the project. The structure provides a total area of 38,500 m² and includes 1,100 rooms, one of which has 1,350 seats and another has up to 400 seats. Total expenditures for the building project were planned at 4.4 billion NOK, but finished ahead of schedule, and 300 million NOK under budget. At the 1-years jubilee of the opera 1.3 million people had visited the building."

self explanatory i think
 I can't say i heard of it prior to coming here, but i must say it really is impressive, u can climb from the bottom to the top, and it's restrooms are incredible. Sad that i could probably write pages how it's lavatories are awesome clean, with hot water and general nice smell then on the history of the building, but my motto is if it doesn't have lasers boobs or Mel Gibson it ain't worth knowing, which surprisingly isn't that limiting :D The view from any part of it is really incredible, from one side u can see the sea, the cruise liner, from another the city centre, and from another the newly constructing skyscrapers of the ever expanding capitol.

And many a hungered pictures later we managed to pick ourselves up and went on our way.

"Hope it's not 'the size' of all Serbs"
After drinking a strange Islamic beverage which strangly reminded me of cocta we went to the doctors to get my stuff. After waiting in line i went to see the doctor...But as it turns out it was just one of the lines i needed to w8 in to get what i needed :D We split up and the rest of the gang went on their own way while i waited for my stuff. The general feel of the hospital was really different then in the Serbian ones, main difference is, at least I'm told, the courtesy of the staff. The thing is my mom a doctor, and whenever i visited the place i was always skipping the q, all the doctors knew my name, so i never really had this notion of a hospital being anything but a friendly place with candy Cinnamon :)) One difference that i did notice is the smell... Or should i say the lack there of. The place smell like any house, any building, without that i just performed major knee surgery and a gas tank leaked kinda smell. Not really sure why that was the case. In q no2 i w8ed for about 30minutes, not bad really the seats were comfortable enough and with cell phone games (Spore), the wait didn't seem to long and they pronounced my name. So i sat down beside some Norse dude, and we chatted a bit while i waited for the doctor, q3. And after finally getting my sh*t i headed back.

==========================================================

 When i came back i had some milk and dinner was ready. After a fantastic meal, we thought about making it game night. We played Carcassonne an awesome German game which Franq , the bearded bastard won :D The game lasted for about 2h and after it lady K and miss Lisa were pretty tired and decided to sleep.  We however decided not too, and played BANG! until 3am.

After a nice shower feeling squishy and clean we went to bed.
